The scripting feature is a powerful search tool unique to STN which is mainly used by experts to automate the STN retrieval. Scripts support your daily workflow when developing and sharing search strategies with colleagues and for running highly customized alerts. Scripts could also function as search assistants for less experienced users.
In this e-seminar, we will briefly refresh the basic script commands and introduce you to advanced scripting capabilities. You will learn how to set up a sophisticated monitoring solution, allowing you to monitor multiple structures or patent numbers in the CAS and Derwent suite of databases, respectively INPADOC by just starting a single master script.

This course is targeted for

• Everyone who would like to see the possibilities of the STN script language especially for structure searches (Our FIZ Search Service can be commissioned to generate such scripts for your specific purpose).

• Users with first experiences with scripts on STNext who would like to set up such scripts themselves. As a refresher we recommend to watch the e-Seminar “Automating Searches with STN: Part 2 – Introduction to Basic Scripting.”
