Staff

About 320 persons are employed by FIZ Karlsruhe, 30% of whom are working part-time. In 2009, our human resources capacity was 259 person-years.

Our aim is to maintain and increase our employees’ motivation and to adapt their know-how to present and future tasks. We offer targeted expert training; training and coaching for executives; and conduct appraisals on a regular basis.

The training focuses on new methods and technologies (for example in software development and information technology), working methods, and improving personal and social skills. We also offer health promotion programs.

We conscientiously comply with equal opportunity regulations and offer flexible working time models (flexitime, part-time, telework) for a good work-life balance. We have been promoting women in executive positions for many years. 180 of our employees are female, i.e. 56% of the total staff. 47% of the executives are women. In 2010, we received the Total E-Quality Award for the third time in merit of our successful equal opportunities policy.

Our experts with special know-how hold lectures and workshops at universities and other academic institutions.

In co-operation with universities, we assist students in preparing their theses. We also offer internships to trainees and students working towards a career in the documentation and information business
