Asian patent publications on STN – A Case Study

Publication activities in Asian countries have grown dramatically over the last years, contributing more and more patent and scientific literature publications to the worldwide prior art. On STN major patent and scientific literature databases keep up to date with this enormous increase of Asian publications and continuously enhance their Asian coverage and related retrieval functionality.
This presentation will give an insight to the high quality patent literature from Asia covered on STN. The case study will instruct you how to perform a comprehensive search for Asian patent publications in STN patent first-level databases (JPFULL, CNFULL, INFULL and INPADOC) and in the value-added patent databases DWPI and CAplus.

    New STN Case Studies
Each release of the new STN platform delivers additional enhancements to the STN search experience while maintaining precise and efficient searching of scientific and patent content.  This session will use real search examples to showcase some of the best new features in new STN.

Search Strategies at the Interface of Chemistry and Biology:
    Immunoconjugates

The rapid convergence of the traditionally defined disciplines of chemistry and biology and the content resources in these areas create challenges and opportunities for many types of searches.  Immunoconjugates, also known as antibody drug conjugates, embody the marriage of chemistry and biology.  CAS REGISTRYSM, CAplusSM, DWPI and other STN databases offer unique advantages for searching these hybrid complexes: broad coverage of sequences and chemical information, plus subject indexing.  Come and learn strategies and best practices for dealing with these challenging searches on STN.
