Effective Property Searching on STN

A number of key databases on STN provide physical and chemical property search options which can be of importance for patent and non-patent literature searches. Properties ranging from chemical, pharmacological and ecological, to physical and electrical/electronic may be searched on STN. In this session, we will provide practical tips for conducting a variety of property searches in several key STN databases, including CAS REGISTRYSM, REAXYSFILE, INSPEC, and many patent databases.

Biomedical Files on STN

Patent searching is not always about searching patent databases. Clinical trials, toxicity and nonpatent literature information is useful in many searches. This session will focus on some of the features and techniques for searching the major biomedical files on STN: MEDLINE, BIOSIS, EMBASE and CAplus. Also, learn about:

  • CAS Roles

DWPI Tips & Tricks

Derwent World Patents Index (DWPISM) is the world’s most comprehensive value-added database of international patent information, covering all aspects of science and technology.
