One of the organizers is FIZ Karlsruhe whose Vice President Information Service Engineering,  Prof. Sack, is Conference Chair and a member of the conference’s Permanent Advisory Board.

The Chemical Abstracts database covers all areas of biochemistry, chemistry and chemical engineering, and related sciences. CA contains records for documents reported in printed Chemical Abstracts (CA) from 19th century to the present. Sources include over 8,000 journals, patents from 38 national patent offices and two international patent organizations, technical reports, books, conference proceedings, and dissertations. Electronic-only journals and Web preprints are also covered. Bibliographic terms, indexing terms, roles, CAS Registry Numbers, International Patent Classification, and abstracts are searchable. Cited references are included for journals, conference proceedings and basic patents from US, EPO, WIPO and German patent offices added to the CAS databases from 1999 to the present. Page images for the CA abstracts from 1907-1967 are displayable. A learning file, LCA, is available. CA contains thesauri for records from 1967 to the present in the Controlled Term (/CT) field for the CA Lexicon, in the Role (/RL) field for the CAS roles, and in the International patent Classification fields, as well as a Company Name Thesaurus. In addition, a thesaurus is also available for CA Sections for records from 1907 to the present.

Three pricing options are available:

  • low connect hour with search term charges;
  • connect hour with no search term charges (HCA file);
  • and no connect hour charge with higher search term charges (ZCA file).
